Smart Blind Stick

Abstract

The Smart Blind Stick is an assistive device for visually impaired individuals. Equipped with a proximity sensor, it detects obstacles within a 60 cm range and triggers a buzzer to alert the user. This USB-powered device ensures safety and functionality, offering a practical and portable solution to improve mobility.

Working

  • The proximity sensor continuously scans the surroundings for obstacles.
  • When an obstacle is detected within 60 cm, the sensor sends a signal to activate the buzzer.
  • The buzzer produces an audible alert, notifying the user of the obstruction ahead.
  • The USB-powered system ensures consistent and safe operation.

Components Used

  1. Proximity sensor (ultrasonic or IR)
  2. Buzzer module
  3. USB power supply
  4. Relay module
  5. Connecting wires
  6. Stick or cane structure
